In a few weeks I’m headed up to Oregon to see an amazing man and woman come together in marriage. I am so happy for these two and so excited to see what their future together holds. I just got a burst of excitement to head up there, so I thought I’d share it with you all!
Yaya!

A Beautiful Wedding

I normally don’t post other people’s weddings- but this one was so beautiful I had to share it.  I was literally brought to tears after seeing these photos of the bride’s grandmother, (who is be blind and could not attend the wedding because she was unable to leave her nursing home) with the biggest smile on her face while being visited by the bridal party in her room at her home.  Here is a caption from Green Wedding Shoes,

My grandmother was unable to attend or wedding because she is blind and cannot leave her nursing home for extended periods of time. I asked my absolutely hilarious brother to videotape it, and then make a commentary option on the DVD for my grandma to listen to. I wanted her to experience everything she could. She loves when my brother tells her stories because he is so animated; it brings everything to life for her. My brother not only videotaped the wedding ceremony but, the whole day. He was there for every moment for us to watch and remember. One of the most wonderful gifts we received.”

Here she is feeling the beads on the dress because she is unable to see…

I couldn’t help but tear up looking at these beautiful photos. It makes me so happy that the bride and her new husband would take the time to visit her grandmother and allow her to experience their wedding day with them. I know by looking at that smile on her face- that it meant more to her than they will probably ever know.  Being in the presence of real beauty can be a remarkable thing.  It can heal physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Even if you cannot see it, you can feel it.

Not only was that story and those photos amazing, but the rest of the photos from the wedding were great too…

How cute is this bride??

They also did all of their own decorating, their entire wedding was DIY and I love how they did it…

The lamps on the tables, the non matching chairs they found at thrift stores, the candles and window frames all come together to create an eclectic look with an antique vibe. I think its great.

And these eyes… stunning.

See more of their beautiful wedding here, and read more about their day here.

And see other amazing weddings here.

Happy Monday everyone! Make it a week full of life and passion.

Wedding Wear

I’m going to a wedding tonight and I have no idea what I’m going to wear.  I’m at a point where I really don’t like any of the clothes in my closet and I have no money… I’m thinking I’m gonna hit up some thrift stores today to see if I can find anything I can make work!  Here are some fashion inspirations I was looking at on Need Supply Co. this morning…

The hunt is on.

Grace and Josh

I spent this weekend editing these photos from Grace and Josh’s engagement photo session we did a while back.  Josh is currently training to be in the airforce in Texas. We took their engagement photos right before he left. Grace is living here in Southern Ca.  They can only talk for a limited time limit every week. They make my long distance relationship look like nothing, especially when they went for 2 months without even being able to talk!  This couple seriously inspires me to live without complaining and to have more patience.  Way to go guys!

They were such a joy to photograph and their fun attitudes made the session feel more like a hang out sesh more than anything else.

I love you both and I cannot wait for your wedding in May!!

Grace also has a blog where she writes her thoughts on life, art, music and photography and other fun stuff.  Check it out!  :)
