So this is the second year in a row where I have been commissioned by my mother to bake the Thanksgiving pies. My assignment: make a pumpkin pie, apple pie, and a specialty sumthin- my choice. So I’m browsing through recipes trying to see which ones to use, and it is so hard to decide with all of the amazing goodness of options out there!
Here are my options for the apple:

“Apple pie without cheese is like a kiss without a squeeze!” Nolan tells me his grandpa used to say that… I really want to try this recipe just because of that quote. I mean- its gotta be great!

I’m a sucker for the crumbs on top of cobbler, so crumb pie sounds pretty awesome.

And this pie just makes me hungry looking at it. Minus the raisins… sorry raisins, but I’m not your biggest fan. Other than that, this pie looks to die for!
For the Pumpkin- the possibilities are endless. I mean look at this actual pumpkin “pie chart” from TasteSpotting:

They have twelve different pumpkin pie recipes to choose from! What?? I didn’t know pumpkin pie could be so complicated…
And I think I know what I’m doing for the specialty pie :) I’m a big fan of all things gooey and melty. So this Brownie Pecan Pie from Bakerella is sounding pretty darn good. I’m excited to bake this, but ooober excited to eat it.

So pretty much I’m super excited about Thanksgiving. Family, baking, and eating. It doesn’t get much better!
But for now I have some serious decisions to make…

So I have a little confession to make… I’m a Martha Stewart fan. Yes- I admit it. Heres why- she has amazing creative ideas which she executes well, she’s been around forever and done a great job staying relevant to todays audience. She can be cheesy, her voice is annoying at times, then theres the whole prison thing… but the good overrides the bad and I remain a fan!
Especially of her baking recipes!
So inspired by this post by A CUP OF JO, and the cold weather yesterday, I had a urge to bake, but unfortunately had no time. So here are some yummies from Martha on my “things I wanna bake right now but don’t have time” list:

Pumpkin Patch Cupcakes
I think I would have just as much fun looking at these as I would eating them!

Pumpkin Seed Brittle
A better, more tasty solution to baking those pumpkin seeds :)

Chocolate Carmel Doughnut Holes
The name speaks for itself… my mouth is watering…
So now that I’m totally craving sweets, I’m going to get back to work wishing I was baking. Have a great Thursday! Its almost the weekend… yeeessss.
